Prior to the pandemic lockdown, Hellnback and Lisa participated in a music residency where in attendance was Canadian Blues and Country Artist Crystal Shawanda. The event would assist in professional development and skills needed to continue the artist pathway with facilitators and guest speakers. After Hellnback and Lisa's music showcase, Shawanda named the duo "The Resilience". The couple, who are already prospective artists in their own crafts, collaborated to add a new sound to their music. Given Lisa's work experience in the Indian Residential Schools Unmarked Burials and Missing Children projects in Manitoba, the duo felt their music would be an impactful tool to help spread awareness and share lived experiences as Intergenerational Indian Residential School Survivors and attendees of Day School. Hellnback's fire lyrics pack insightful views and narratives associated with tough discussions of Canada's dark history. "We want to share our message with those who will hear us out, not only in this time but in a generation yet to come", says Muswagon.
The Resilience believes that music has the power to create meaningful experiences. The husband and wife duo released five singles to date, features and an upcoming album almost ready to package, check out the music section.
